Dear owners

Many of you will not have heard that Pia’s older son died a few weeks ago after a fight against cancer. Pia had spent several weeks with him before he died, at the age of only 27 years. Needless to say, Pia is devastated by this, and has made the decision to leave THP as soon as possible, to go home to live with her other son.

I am sure you all agree that Pia will be a great loss to THP, and your Committee is now endeavouring to find a replacement for her, to manage the shop, bar and restaurant. This will not be easy, as it is a difficult commercial proposition for anyone, particularly as our low season seems nowadays to be longer and fewer people staying at THP.

We feel that the best solution would be to find someone who already lives on site, who has the cooking skills (both Thai and Farang food), is professional, clean and hygienic, has good organisational skills and some business acumen. (Superwoman comes to mind!). Should any owner receiving this email know of any possible candidate who can meet all or most of the above criteria, and is interested, please let me know by email, before Thursday this week – when the Committee will be meeting to discuss this and other issues.

The Committee will also be discussing some kind of bonus for Pia, in the light of her situation and service, and we will include the sentiments of all owners in thanking her for her excellent work over the years, and wishing her well for the future. We will lose a nice friend as well as a good Clubhouse Manager.
